Tweejaarlijkse conferentie


Elke twee jaar vindt de gerenomeerde "Textiles from the Nile Valley" conferentie, georganiseerd door Dr. Cäcilia Fluck, Dr. Petra Linscheid en Prof. Dr. Antoine De Moor, plaats in de Katoen Natie HeadquARTers. De internationale onderzoeksgroep, bestaande uit wetenschappers, curatoren, conservatoren en textielanalisten, presenteert er de recentste ontwikkelingen op het vlak van archeologisch textiel, met een focus op vondsten uit het 1e millennium na Chr. uit Egypte en haar buurlanden.
Het congres van 2023 zal plaatsvinden op 18 en 19 november 2023. Het thema van dit jaar is "Silk textiles in Egypt from the Roman to the Mamluk era”.
